From suspicion to spread

A patient's testimonial about professional teeth whitening treatment.

I'm a naturally suspicious person. I don't really believe in miracle products and, by extension, anything that claims to make someone look amazing in a short period of time. I used to think that the before and after pictures of all sorts of subjects I saw on Instagram either didn't tell the whole story or were Photoshopped (at least a little). When something seems too good to be true, it usually is. I really like creams, beauty treatments, healthy eating, and (I'm trying this) exercise. I don't follow trends; I'd say I'm more of a natural-looking person.

“I used to think that the before and after pictures of all sorts of subjects I saw on Instagram either didn't tell the whole story or were Photoshopped.”

I wore braces when I was a teenager and everyone around me always said I had a really nice smile. Given that, I never thought there was anything I could do to improve it. That changed when I met my ex-boss. He had the most amazing, sparkling white smile I had ever seen. For months, I kept looking at her smile wondering if her teeth were naturally that white or if she had had some treatment. One day, when I thought we were close enough for her to feel comfortable answering, I dared to ask her: why are your teeth so white? (Such a subtle way of asking, I know…!).

“I had my teeth whitened a while ago,” she replied. I was like, Oh, okay, how does it work? Is it expensive? And a thousand other questions. She patiently answered me, and that was the end of it for a year or so. I never researched the company online, nor did I feel any interest in checking if what she was saying was true. I trusted her, and most of all, I could see the results. Seeing is believing.

From that moment on, I began to realize what a difference white teeth make in a person's appearance.. I have very pale skin. My skin tone looks dull to me, and I thought that white teeth wouldn't change my appearance significantly. In my mind, there wasn't much of a contrast between fair skin with white teeth and fair skin with less white teeth. Oh my God, I was wrong! It became obvious to me when I saw a singer and actress I like on TV after they whitened their teeth.

The idea of getting it done at some point in my life started to hit me. I had an event coming up, and I finally decided to do it. I talked to my boss, who talked to her husband, who talked to me about the process. It all happened in a very short time. I got my trays done and started the treatment. I'm one of those people who does things thoughtfully, so I didn't miss any appointments and wore the aligners for at least 8 hours every night. I started to notice the difference after a week and I still had another week to go. When I finished the treatment, I was happy but not overly impressed. I thought my results were good, but I expected to be amazed – I didn't see that. Either way, I could see the improvement and I was grateful for it.

“"It's become a norm for me, but people are constantly telling me how beautiful my smile is."”

A few weeks later, I saw my mother for the first time in a while. The first thing she said when she saw me was, “Your teeth are so white, you look amazing, what a difference!” You have a perfect smile.” I looked at her and replied, “Really? I can see they are white, but not as white as I would have liked them to be.” The same thing happened many times with friends and family who hadn’t seen me in a while. I started to wonder if I was blind. In fact, I was!

The event took place and a photographer took some photos of me. When I saw the photos, the first thing my eyes noticed were my teeth. They were incredibly white and stood out like a bright star against my pale skin. I was so excited! Then I looked at some older photos and I could see the difference even more.

It's been a few years since then, and with a few touch-ups a year, my teeth continue to look amazing. It's become a norm for me, but people constantly tell me how beautiful my smile is. Many of my friends and family have whitened their teeth after seeing the positive effects the treatments have had on me.

The process was easy and although I had some sensitivity, it was something I managed quite well. The tooth serum I used helped me a lot. When I finished the treatment I started using EvoWhite, which I love. I always hated the smell of toothpaste, I found it unpleasant, until I started using EvoWhite. My enamel is quite thin and recently I had a problem with one of my teeth. It had a crack and every time I brushed my teeth I had a painful sensation of sensitivity. I started using the tooth serum and now it is completely gone!

“I’ve met many people who whitened their teeth just after seeing mine.”

I've met many people who whitened their teeth just after seeing mine, probably because they felt the same way I did. So all I'm saying is: teeth whitening makes a difference. If you want to try it, put yourself in the hands of professionals and try it. There is no other way to find out what it can do for you. Think about this: a dentist wouldn't put his reputation at risk for a product that doesn't work. It seems simple, but it's true!
