We all see them. We all want them. But are they achievable? Dr. Khusal Morar and Dr. Andrew Lyons have the answers.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Hollywood smiles. We see them. We hear about them. We want them. What do you think, Kush?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Kush: <\/strong>I think it&#039;s doable. But of course it depends on what the patient wants. And t<strong>You have to be realistic with your patients too.<\/strong> You need to evaluate them, assess their occlusion, see if the position of their teeth makes what they want to achieve possible, and then you need to find out exactly what their idea of a Hollywood smile is.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Andrew: <\/strong>Do you think it is achievable for absolutely everyone?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Kush: <\/strong>Well, I think anything is achievable, but again, it depends on what treatments are needed to achieve that Hollywood smile, as it will be different for everyone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Andrew:<\/strong> I definitely agree with you on this. <strong>I believe that for any patient, a very good result and aesthetically pleasing teeth can be achieved in one way or another.<\/strong> It just depends on how far you want to take things. A lot of people may not feel comfortable pushing things that far. It all starts with finding a clinician that you really trust and who will explain things to you well so that you can work with them from where you are now to where you want to go.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Kush:<\/strong> That&#039;s a good point. I think having <strong>trust in your clinician is a huge factor<\/strong>, because you want someone you know will give you the result you want.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>\u201cTrusting your clinician is a huge factor, because you want someone you know will get you the outcome you want.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To me, a Hollywood smile is one where the teeth look almost perfect, bright white and perfectly aligned, but it&#039;s different for everyone.&nbsp; <strong>And I believe this is achievable for everyone. <\/strong>It just depends on how far you want to go. For example, some people may need minimal veneers or veneers without preparation, while others may need orthodontic work, and not everyone is comfortable with this type of work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Andrew: <\/strong>And for some people, it might even be a case where, if they don&#039;t have teeth, but they need something put in, something like implants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Kush:<\/strong> So, some people think that Hollywood smiles are unnatural. What do you think about that?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Andrew: <\/strong>I agree to a certain extent, but if we think about what people want to see when they look at someone&#039;s smile, it&#039;s straight, white teeth. And even if we look at them and think, &quot;That looks a little unnatural,&quot; that&#039;s actually what people want to see in a smile anyway. That&#039;s why it looks good. Because it&#039;s what we want, <strong>it is aesthetically pleasing and is what people think teeth should look like.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Kush: <\/strong>That&#039;s right. I also think a massive contributor is the type of technician you have. <strong>Your teeth can be very white and very shiny, but as long as they are shaped in an anatomically correct way, they won&#039;t look fake at all.<\/strong> So, I think that&#039;s essential.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Andrew: <\/strong>Yeah. The reason I think when they look natural, sometimes, is just because you see some people who have absolutely nothing done to their teeth and they&#039;re perfect. Super pristine, really well shaped and positioned. It looks like they&#039;ve had a lot of work done, but it&#039;s just natural.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And if you were a normal person on the street, why would they think they had work done? As dentists, we look at this type of thing all the time, but to someone who is not a dentist, they will only see straight, white teeth. We look at the teeth and evaluate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Kush:<\/strong> Because that&#039;s our job.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Andrew:<\/strong> Yes, and that&#039;s all we think about when someone smiles, but when people see a beautiful smile, they just think &quot;they have a beautiful smile.&quot;.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If someone says, &quot;Oh, I straightened my teeth,&quot; then of course you&#039;ll know. But if they don&#039;t, no one will be the wiser.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Kush: <\/strong>And yet, that&#039;s what patients would want, right? To be able to achieve the look they want, but also look natural.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Andrew:<\/strong> Yes. <strong>It&#039;s just about doing what you want so you can build your self-confidence.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Kush: <\/strong>To feel better in your own skin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>\u201cI think for any patient, you can achieve a very good result and aesthetically pleasing teeth in one way or another.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Andrew: <\/strong>It&#039;s the same as dressing well, wearing makeup, making sure you respect your hygiene, and doing everything you can to have good skin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In today&#039;s society, when everything is so heavily influenced by your image, people make split-second decisions about who you are just by how you look.
