It's not normal, but the good news is that gums are brilliant at healing themselves. If you suspect an allergy, stop using the gel immediately and contact your dentist.

27. My aligners have little air pockets and I'm worried if they are tight enough?
First of all, I congratulate you for noticing such a detail. The good news is that I did this on purpose. The air pockets and super-sealed edges ensure that the gel remains in contact with the tooth at all times, they are there to provide a better result.
28. How much gel do I put in my trays?
You only need an amount of gel the size of a lentil or small pea in each tooth. Patients with very small teeth may need less than this.

You can, but for the best results (for the B1 guarantee) you will need to use Enlighten aligners. They are essential to providing that final result for several reasons: they fit to order, offer better retention, super-sealed edges, very durable, etc.
30. Does the whitening treatment include any LED/UV light?
With Enlighten, no UV/LED light is used. We offer custom aligners that provide maximum coverage and fit for your teeth. There is insufficient evidence to support that light-activated systems do anything other than dehydrate teeth, providing only modest, short-term results.

However, if an unforeseen situation arises, you can pack the gels with 1-2 ice bags and keep them out of direct sunlight, and this should last for the trip. When you arrive at your destination, put the gels in the refrigerator.
34. My gels have been out of the refrigerator for a long time and I feel uncomfortable using them. What should I do?
If this happens, please contact your dentist to see if anything can be done regarding replacing the gels. Please feel free to contact us if you need further guidance.

Some areas may appear more translucent as they dehydrate, this will return to normal within 2-3 weeks after treatment ends.
38. How many hours is it safe to keep my aligners in?
We recommend keeping them in while you sleep (as close to 8 hours as possible). If, for any reason, you keep them in longer than that, the gel will not cause any damage to your teeth, it will just stop working.
